In Service of our Community

To kick off this session and get to know one another, the Chi Prime cohort visited the Second Harvest Food Bank in Watsonville, CA. We put together bags of healthy fruits and vegetables for distribution at their local food banks. As practitioners we hope to make the world a better place, and there was no better place to start than by giving back to the community that sustained us during this intensive.

Insight Group Work

Insight groups were the forum for beginning the work around understanding our narratives and patterns that result from them. By helping to understand where we came from and how our inner committee members influence us, we can understand how we show up in the world and begin evolve into our wisest selves. The phrase “no pain, no gain” has never felt more relevant.

Foundations of Organization Development

To begin our academic journey, studies focused on neuropsychology and our ability to use mindsight in our Self as Instrument work. Using the SyncUp4 model, students explored the concepts of Dynamic Attention, Whole Person Capacity (SPINE), Strategic Clarity and Authentic Clarity. Key models also included the Johari Window, Ladder of Inference, 4 Fatal Fears…and much more.

Without learning to know ourselves as intimately as we possibly can, we limit our choice. Life is not very sweet without freedom of choice.
— Moshe Feldenkrais

I'm not a girl, not yet a woman.

I'm not a girl, don't tell me what to believe,
I'm just trying to find the woman in me,
All I need is time, a moment that is mine,
While I'm in between.

I'm not a girl, not yet a woman.

But if you look at me closely,
You will see it in my eyes,
This girl will always find her way.

~Britney Spears

I used to think I had the answers to everything,
But now I know
That life doesn't always go my way,
Feels like I'm caught in the middle,
That's when I realize

I'm not a girl, not yet a woman.

There is no need to protect me,
It's time that I learn to face up to this on my own,
I've seen so much more than you know now,
So don't tell me to shut my eyes.
