About
Kate is an emerging glass artist and jewelry maker who lives and works in the San Francisco Bay Area. Kate’s first experience with glass art was through a Groupon class that she bought for a date night in 2022. She was immediately hooked and has been studying at the Bay Area Glass Institute in San Jose, CA ever since - deepening her practice in glass blowing and experimenting in new modalities such as fused glass and soft glass flame work. Kate was a 2023 recipient of the David Alcala Fused Glass Scholarship. Kate participated in her first exhibition at Intuit’s Community Art Showcase in 2024, donating several pieces for an auction that benefitted non-profit organizations in the Bay Area.
Outside of glass work, Kate is an HR professional with a passion for employee onboarding, group + interpersonal dynamics, and building manager capability. Kate holds a BA in Linguistics from UC Santa Cruz and an MS in Organizational Development from Pepperdine University. Kate also enjoys giving back to her community through volunteering with the Junior League of San Jose and Camp Saint Andrew’s of Saratoga.
