Fieldwork in France

Professor Miriam was a fan of fieldwork, so we had ample opportunity to gain an understanding of french culture. The cohort also visited the Resistance and Deportation History Centre and the Aqueduc du Gier. We learned how to correctly formulate a hypothesis, collect and analyze data and present our findings.

A movement was born: The spritz club

Our cohort enjoyed relaxing together after long days in the classroom - Aperol Spritz quickly became the drink of the trip. Even a few professors joined the Spritz Club by the end of our intensive! Although the surroundings may have been “spartan,” the hotel staff graciously took care of us and served up traditional lyonnaise cuisine each night.

Digitalization and more!

Our group was lucky to work with a local relocation firm on the digitization of their business. Lectures by Professor Mark Tribbitt around strategic management supplemented the MSOD curriculum, and allowed us to perform more thorough analyses during our consulting engagements. Key methods we learned included TOWS and PESTEL analysis, as well as the application of Porter’s 5 Forces and Kotter’s 8 Step Change model.

Life Lessons with Miriam

It will be okay.
It is not necessary to react.
I love pain. Pain sets me free.

But if these years have taught me anything it is this: you can never run away. Not ever. The only way out is in.
